The Florida Probe has been used by periodontists, hygienists and researchers around the world since 1988. It is not just a probing method for the early detection of periodontal disease; its periodontal charts also help educate and motivate patients.
The Florida Probe is a computerized periodontal probing system developed at the University of Florida (USA). It is currently considered the most accurate and advanced system for measuring the depth of periodontal pockets.

The software presents the examination results very clearly in an audiovisual format, making it easier for the patient to understand the treatment required.
It has the following uses
◗ In the initial assessment, it provides a wealth of information for the treatment.
◗ In the maintenance phase, repeated measurements (probing) let us see, much more sensitively than with traditional probing procedures, any change that may occur in the patient’s periodontal condition over the long term. By comparing consecutive measurements, we can monitor the activity of the patient’s periodontal disease at their periodontal maintenance visits with a high degree of reliability.
